Our German language school in Regensburg was founded in 1986 and has quickly earned a good international reputation through its high standard of teaching and its personal, friendly and unbureaucratic working ethos.
Our school of German is situated on the 4th floor of an office building (built in the 50ies) in the quiet medieval city centre of Regensburg, they were completely refurbished in 2002. We have eight bright fully equipped classrooms. Our premises in the historic city centre are quiet, bright and well equipped. From the classrooms you can see one of Regensburg's landmarks, the Cathedral. Close by are many cafés and small restaurants where you can get light refreshment during breaks.
On receipt of acknowledgement of registration you will receive a placement test. This you should retum to us at least two weeks before the beginning of your course to facilitate provisional class placement. On your arrival on Sunday evening, a short conversation will determine correct placement, so that teaching can start without delay on Monday.
At the end of the course you will receive a certificate of participation for the relevant course.

Regensburg (140,000 inhabitants) lies at the northernmost point of the Danube in the heart of Bavaria.
The town was founded by the Romans and was up to the beginning of the 19th century one of the most important cities in Germany. With its unique medieval city centre and buildings from two millennia, Regensburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.
Regensburg is ideal for a language course. You will immediately feel at home in the narrow streets and picturesque squares of the historic city centre.
During your course you will discover many things: museums, friendly bars and beer-gardens, theatres, cinemas and the university, where one of the most well-stocked libraries in Germany is open to everyone. Some 25,000 students make Regensburg a very lively place.
We organise a wide-ranging leisure programme which will give you an understanding of German life and culture, because we would like you to get more than a tourist's view of Germany. We run the following activities on a regular basis:
* guided tours of Regensburg * lectures on modern German literature * showings of recent German films * lectures on current political, social and cultural affairs * lectures on German history * visits to firms * half-day and full-day excursions (approx. 10-15 Euro) * walking and cycling tours.
The course fee includes all activities (apart from trip and admission fees).

We recommend:
- accommodation with a family/homestay (with use of kitchen, with breakfast, with half board) Homestay accommodation is not like being in a hotel; you have to adapt to a different way of life and family routine. The homestay offers the best possibilities if you want to learn and practice German in authentic surroundings. The families serve the local Bavarian food they eat and the foreigners usually enjoy this If you want us to book homestay for you: We send you your homestay address and phone number or e-mail before the beginning of the course. You are suggested to arrive on Sunday evening and to contact your host about your exact arrival time.
- accommodation in our own residence with 24 rooms (all en suite) or in a in a student hall of residence. If you book a room in our residence or in a student residence: We’ll be waiting for you on Sunday evening between 5 and 7 p.m. at the school.
Both, student residences and families are located in residential areas and usually not farther away from the school in the city centre than 20 minutes by bus or bike.
They are appartment buildings (reserved for university students) with single rooms (doubles sometimes available on request ). Some of them have their own bathroom.
The others are organised like shared flats where 3 - 5 students share 2 bathrooms (one for men, one for women). There are always fully equipped kitchens at the student's disposal. There is also a laundry in every residence and, don't forget, the many social events going on like pingpong, jogging, volley ball, soccer and parties. You need not bring any sheets or bed linen along, please bring your towels.
Also, they are quite close to the University Restaurant (for midday and evening meals) which is also open to our students. There they find a great variety of excellent food (vegetarian, Bavarian, ...) at very low prices: a full meal incl. a beverage is about 2,50 EUR and thus less expensive than half board with a family.
- shared flat (some student residences are also organised like this, too)
Let us know if you want us to book a hotel room for you.
